COURSE OVERVIEW
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY AN EVENT SITUATION OR HOLDING ONTO AN UNHELPFUL NARRATIVE THAT IS KEEPING THEM STUCK AND WISH TO WORK THROUGH VIA THE MEDIUM OF WRITING COURSE curriculum WEEK ONE PAIN AND POETRY WEEK TWO FEELINGS AND FOCUS WEEK THREE AND FOUR BEING AND BLOGGING WEEK FIVE AND SIX SELLING YOUR STORY
WEEK 1 PAIN AND POETRY
Week one will encourage you to identify your pain share yourself with others in the group at your own discretion and begin with an easy writing task in the form of poetry By the end of week one you will have identified a maximum of three life events that you feel are troubling you and written a description of each event prompts provided to help you constructed a written poem about one or all of these events describing how they made you feel incorporated a regular meditation practise into your routine in order to really connect to and feel into the situation attended a welcome group workshop where you get to listen and share with others in the group dependant on package choice
WEEK 2 FEELINGS AND FOCUS
In week two will we be focusing on our feelings perhaps the most difficult part of any healing process in order to really process our emotions and begin to understand what our pain is trying to tell us By the end of week two you will have connected to your feelings in a deeper way and maintained a regular self care and meditation routine selected one event from your list that you would like to structure into the following weeks exercises written a short synopsis of your event can you make it fit onto one page attended a writing workshop dependant on package choice
WEEK 3 4 BEING AND BLOGGING
In week three we are going to try and move away from our feelings and into our being still focusing on meditation self care and soothing but allowing our minds to become more analytical of our writing as we craft it into a blog post or newspaper article By the end of week three you will have turned your event into an article or blog post 600 to 1 000 words come away from your feeling words and into what being is by using descriptive language what we often call in writing show don t tell have a better understanding of your writing style voice tone structure and form attended a writing workshop dependant on package choice
WEEK 5 6 SELLING YOUR STORY
Week four will involve more words and a focus on storytelling What makes a good story Why should people read what you have written How do we write for an audience as well as ourselves By the end of week four you will know the answers to those questions and will also have articulated your event into a short story between 3 000 8 000 words a better understanding of the art of storytelling attended a writing workshop and been given a full edit of your writing with further information on how where to share your story dependant on package choice
